Beauty Trend to Try: Neutral Eye Shadow

Who said neutrals have to be boring? I recently purchased the AMAZING Urban Decay Naked 2 palette and am in love with the neutral eye shadow colors. You can create dozens of looks from the colors in the palette, and I actually use all of them, which doesn’t usually happen with most eye shadow palettes. I chose the Naked 2 since the colors included are cooler and those tend to work best with my complexion (grays, taupes and cool browns). The original Naked is good for any skin tones since it has a variety of warm and cool colors, and the Naked 3 has warmer shades (think rose gold) for those who look best in warm colors.

I pointed out a few of my favorite go-to colors with pink arrows, but you can do anything with this palette: a silver smoky eye, a black cat eye with champagne shimmer on your lid, a contoured crease with the taupe matte color, etc. Just get creative! My favorite part about neutral eye shadow is it’s very hard to “mess up” when applying. These shades blend easily and you can simply add another layer of shadow if you want to quickly correct something.

These palettes are in very high demand, so you may have some difficulty finding them online or at Sephora. I included a few neutral eye shadow alternatives that will help you achieve the same look in case you can’t find the Naked palettes. Have you tried any of these palettes before?
