Peplum Trend: Yay or Nay?

I will admit, I was very skeptical of the peplum trend when it first surfaced. I think it looks adorable on petite people (my mom rocked a leather peplum dress, but she is 4’10” and weighs 90 pounds), but I was concerned about trying it myself. I have curves and was unsure if peplum would just draw more attention to my hips. My friend, Katie*, was equally as skeptical – she didn’t know if peplum shirts or skirts would work on her thin, athletic frame.

As it turns out…peplum may work on just about everyone. Katie’s peplum top nipped in at her waist, creating the illusion of major curves. And my skirt skimmed nicely over my hips, drawing all of the attention to my waist. Could this style be universally flattering? I am definitely a converted peplum fan!
